Custom Web Page

m11Custom Web Page

I’ve been involved in and have seen many online arguments about how much a custom web page design really matters. I find it funny the lack of knowledge involved with people whom are suppose to make their living online doing this for others.

If you don’t understand the importance of a custom page design then chances are you aren’t making your living online.

I’ve got an affiliate site that I currently make around $200.00 per day with. I was talking with the guys and gals doing the marketing on the site this morning and looking at what we can do to push that to $500.00 per day.

While we had some good ideas put forth on the marketing the best idea of the day came from the design team with the help from Dave at WPW. Dave had suggested early this week that we should set up the affiliate account to measure the click through rate and sales on the call to action banners below the copy.

My design team decided it would be better to set up the affiliate account to measure the click through rate on every call to action and banner on the site. And even take that a step further and measure the click through rate and sales when small changes are made to the call to action and banner designs.

Does a blue banner get a higher click through rate than a red one?

How much difference does the font on the call to action make?

And the list goes on and on. While I’ve got my marketing team implementing different ideas on marketing that could take me a month or more to see my design team will be building some custom web page designs that I could very well see increase the amount of money I make today.

    Hi Janeth,
It’s been a long time. Good to see you getting back into the web design business. You’ve got the best designs in the business and I agree the design of the page makes a huge difference in the amount of money the website is able to make.

Love the new design although have to wonder how risky it is to take a successful website and turn it into a blog.

If the website doesn’t rank and get the traffic then it doesn’t matter what the design looks like. Step one is the marketing and the page design should not get in the way.

I have a small business idea – I would like to sell a line of foods based on my recipes. For example, if I had BBQ sauce or salad dressing recipes that I thought were awesome and would sell, how would I go about finding a company to produce them based on my recipe/bottle choice/label design, etc. Are there drop shipper kitchens or fulfillment companies that do this sort of thing? Basically, I want to set up a web page to sell a type of gourmet food product, but I don’t want to actually rent out a kitchen and make it – I just want to send recipe instructions, manage the web site and have them shipped to customers. Is this a possible business plan or would I have to rent a certified kitchen and make/jar/ship the product myself?

I am trying to put a link in a google sites page that will point to a custom made flash file sitting on an FTP server. The file is a flash based .HTML file and I just want it to open up in a browser like it would if you double clicked on it on my PC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I’m a web designer with excellent html/css skills and over the past 2 years i’ve really taken an interest in designing for myspace. I’m looking to expand my portfolio to feature myspace profiles i’ve created (other than my own). Where is a good place to find clients that are looking for myspace pages? The first few clients would be offered extremely discounted rates such as $150 for a completely custom designed div overlay with custom graphic design and rollover buttons. Any advice on getting started building my myspace portfolio would be great. I may even consider doing the first one for free.

I’m trying to design my own web page, and have come across a pretty big problem. When I open the page in the browser, there is empty white space where the scroll bars should be. And when I re-size the browser window, it crushes everything together rather than create scroll bars. At first I thought my background image (with repeat off) was too small, but I re-sized it and there was no change in the browser window (it was basically the same size) and besides that wouldn’t explain the different browser size problem. I have two elements, with absolute and relative position. I tried floating them instead of using positioning but it didn’t change the problems I’m having.
Thank you. I was able to get the background image to look right, but I’m still having a problem with everything squishing together whenever I resize the browser window. I even tried adding overflow to the html and body tags, and even though scroll bars appear, they won’t enable whenever I shrink the browser page, it still crushes everything.

Instead of using one of the theme templates on the top page of my Yahoo 360 page, I would like to use one of my own photographs as background . I’ve seen other sites where people have customs web pages. How can I do this step by step? Can I use my photos?

I can select the option to keep me signed in for two weeks and it does not work. I have to sign back in each time I open the web page.

    Thanks!
