Something your SEO Company Will Never Tell You!

I believe 2012 is going to be all about content. Google has started putting more emphasis on your social media profiles. They’re looking at how many followers you have, how many likes you have, who you associate with, and using this information in ranking your website.

I honestly believe that search engine optimization companies will have to become content publishers and enter the world of social media marketing to stay in the SEO game.

I just got a motorola cliq and have seen articles all over advertising the new update to google maps allowing navigation but when i go to google mobile it says to access the android market through my phone and download the latest google maps but when i do that google maps does not appear in the market. Is this becuase i am not on the Droid or is there some other problem that is not allowing me to find this new update?

I got into this company with the help of my Father-in-law who has been working there for 10 years. I finished a Communications degree but it took me nearly 2 months to get this job because I had to wait for my work permit. I’m an immigrant. They waited for me fortunately and now giving me this Office Admin job.

After the first day which was only an orientation, my boss talked to me and he was like ” Now, your general job’s gonna be this…We give you this job because you were needing a job, right?”

Then in one of the meetings with all the members under his department, I was introduced as a new employee joining the team and he went like ” And this is (my name), she will be helping us in some Admin jobs and maybe some procurement, we are still figuring out what she’s gonna be doing really.”

He told me I’m gonna be “on the floor” and start my job this Monday, but he’s on leave and he never even talked to me before that for more info, I don’t know who to approach too in behalf of him because he wont be back until Tuesday… It makes me feel neglected and I feel like the company does not need me at all. Am I just needing attention or part of them is really giving me a hint that I’m not THAT needed?

I am capable of doing something. I have several admin/sales/marketing/SEO job experiences before.Yeah a family has helped me get into this company easy and I am thankful for that, but it does not mean that I’m just here because I know someone and not really because I know something. It makes me think that for the most part of it, my boss thinks I can’t be of a big help to them.

Am I feeling wrong here? What are those statements that my boss stated meant? Please give me pieces of advice , I don’t feel good about myself going to work I am a little discouraged. Thanks

Google has started displaying a location under the search bar to the left. There’s an option to change the location, or to let Google auto-detect, but I don’t want a location displayed at all. How do I stop Google from showing what it thinks is my location under the search bar on the left?

Did the google phone come to Verizon Wireless? Is it the HTC DROID ERIS and/or the MOTOROLA DROID? Are there several versions for the google phone? Is the google phone different for each cellphone network? How much is it? I heard that is was coming to Verizon Wireless in the spring but I am not sure. If you know anything, please answer. I really want to know when the google phone is coming to Verizon Wireless and if it came out already.

Or do you think Google has good intentions or a bit of both?

Keep in mind, Google does not make much money in China and this kind of publicity will probably increase revenue better than regular Chinese annual revenues for the company.

    Hi,

I have recently launched a new website. I just want to know how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my site. I am currently generating backlinks by posting on different forums, blog commenting and directory submission. It has been a week now but still there are 0 backlinks to my site according to Google.

Yahoo is relatively quicker than Google in recognizing backlinks. Does anyone have any idea how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my website?

Thanks

Thanks

Please help me how to solve this problem. I find that when using Google with many users in an office, google blocks us. I can’t use Google search anything now. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Google has started displaying a location under the search bar to the left. There’s an option to change the location, or to let Google auto-detect, but I don’t want a location displayed at all. How do I stop Google from showing what it thinks is my location under the search bar on the left?

    Hi there,

A year ago, a funny, amazing, and hard-to-believe thing happened to me. Let me tell you about it.

I was working for a company for about five years, when I began to see the writing on the wall. Sales were down, and there were a lot of high salaried sales executives doing very little. There was nobody to blame for this. It was largely due to the economy.

I started to feel very vulnerable, as if my job security wasn’t, well, secure. I began to investigate other opportunities in my industry. After some time, I found one. A nice one at that!
So, I made the decision to leave my current employer for the new opportunity. On Monday morning, I was going to resign.

When I sat down with my boss and explained the situation to him, he looked at me in disbelief. He then proceeds to tell me that on Thursday, just three days from that moment, our vice president was flying into town to LAY ME OFF!!!

I dodged a real bullet. But it made me realize something important. Never, ever, assume that your job, if you are an employee, will be there tomorrow. It just might not be.

I had to make a plan to protect my family from something like this happening again. I got lucky this time, but I doubt I’d be so lucky the next time.

Because of what happened to me a year ago, I am committed to learning all I can about constructing an online, web based business.

I’ve gathered A LOT of information on the basics of HTML, web editors, web hosting, domain registrars, FTP clients, autoresponders, list building, and so on.

The first thing I did was look for some basic information that would explain things in PLAIN LANGUAGE, and not web-jargon. Learning the jargon is actually helpful, but coming from no experience in the field, I really wanted to find something for the average Joe.

I finally found a great (and absolutely FREE) source of the exact information I was looking for. If you are just starting out with websites, etc. (like me), check out http://www.webpagemadesimple.com. Like I said, it is FREE. 100%.

I know that this basic knowledge is only the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, but the more I learn, the more confidence I am gaining. I do now believe that it IS possible for me to accomplish my goal.
What is my goal? My goal is to build an online business that will, with my hard work, eventual match my current income. This way, If and when I suffer another “downsizing”, my family and I will be more prepared.

Who knows, maybe I will become super successful online. Crazier things have happened.

I would TRULY appreciate any advice that anyone in this forum would be willing to share about developing new products, SEO, affiliate marketing, or anything else.

Like I said, I am committed to this. I’m actually becoming a little obsessed with it!
Thanks for reading. Have a great day!

I’m on my second business. The first one was operated when I was a young 23 year old and overall I found it better to move on and educate myself more, after weighing out the pros and the cons of running that first business for 2 years. It’s 5 years later now, and I’ve made business plans and implemented many of them to open a new business.

The new business is a Website Design / SEO / Internet marketing firm that will be run solo till finances get built up and I can develop teams within the business. I know how do do all these and I know how to market my business; but I feel like I’m missing so many things. From the simplest thing of making a protocol for how the phone conversation will go from start to finish – To making contracts for when sales come through and much more — I’ve done a majority of the work as far as building the website, marketing the company in business directories and other areas of the web, did some other internet marketing techniques, and still have plenty of internet marketing strategies to tackle…. but I’m trying to evenly balance all the work being put into the business as not to focus solely on marketing for 2 weeks, then switch to something else and go back to marketing, etc. Much to do, but trying to even the playing field while i do it.

Here’s my question / my problem. So, this question/problem probably sounds odd… but it is what it is and I’m having the issue… I have a check list of things to accomplish before I (basically push the button) to get all my marketing advertisements running over the web – but I can’t get myself to get going on the rest of the list…. and am feeling overwhelmed that I don’t have everything I need to be able to accept phone calls on 2 levels. First level is to finish the list of things that I wrote that need to be completed. 2nd level is making sure that the list I built is enough and I don’t need to do more to make sure it runs smoothly and successfully.

I guess I’ve come to the conclusion that my issues lies in the fact that I am used to being an employee and told what to do and I do it… and i always do it great. Now, I am having to just do it on my own with no direction. Sounds silly, I know; but seriously, I know most of what i need to do, but can’t find it in me on how to find my own direction to do what I know I need to do… without being told. Another element I suppose is the fact that many of the things I’m doing on this list are new things that I know how to do but have never done -Hence just learning as I go basically.

So, if anyone has any suggestions or know where i can look for guidance let me know. I think the basic issue boils down to my inability to find direction for myself without being told what to do in my up and coming business. Even I know what needs to be done, somewhat, i have to… I’m finding it hard to, for the first time, be my own guidance and my own boss. – I know once i get going and get the hang of it, I will be unstoppable and the momentum will bring success as my work performance has always proven… I just need to get there. Thanks for your help, if anyone knows how a new business owner can find direction solely on their own, and for themselves. :)
