Online Marketing with Membership Websites

Marketing a member’s only site that is unique, only because of its great content, make marketing on the social media networks a lot of fun.

You see, the best way to market anything online is with great content. Rather it’s through e-books, search engines, reports, blogs, forums or social media sites. I can build a list with my free give away and pitch them on my membership site later.

I will also set up an affiliate program and give my affiliates e-books to both sale and give away that contain links back to my membership site.

I will also translate the site into Spanish and start doing seminars here in Colombia, for free and try and promote my membership site through the seminars. I will also start doing teleseminars online for free and try and get people to my membership site through the teleseminars.

The idea is to build a membership site that is able to support itself as well as sell products on it on.

I can sell:

  • Ebooks
  • Reports
  • Online courses
  • Video courses, tutorials
  • Audio courses, tutorials
  • Software
  • Seminars
  • Teleseminars

So…after I do a couple teleseminars, for free, and get the hang of it, I can turn around a sell a limited number of tickets to a teleseminar.

On the front end I sell the teleseminar. On the back end I sell both the audio and transcript of the teleseminar, as a product.

Okay, let me see if I can break this down.

1.  I need to do research on my competition.

2.  research different membership sites and see what I like.

3.  plan everything out on a piece of paper.

4.  I need a logo and a slogan

One of the things I’ll need to do is get the word out about my new membership site and I can do this by:

Do some advertising on SEO forums.

Give away one week free. Let potential new members get one week free social media tools, tips, strategies, and marketing information. Let them checkout the membership area for one week at no charge or obligation to them.

The idea is that when people get a sample of the membership area it will be so good that the benefits will outweigh the membership fees.

I’m just getting my new business off the ground and, as I’ll be talking clients from all over the country, I want to connect my business to every social networking/media website possible. So far I have: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Experience Project, GoodReeds, Delicious, DailyBooth, Academia, and 43 Things… Did I miss any important ones?

    My name is Allen Lawson,
I have recently started a website dedicated to
    -Tips For Online Marketing
    -HTML Lessons
    -CSS Lessons
    -Free Code/Scripts and hopefully more.
I know this seems a bit ridiculous to say but is there any company out there or somebody that will help pay for things like a domain and webs membership? Right now my websites name is AllenLawson.webs.com, not very professional. I just recently got into the google Adsense program, its my first month and I havent made much, about three dollars, well 2.39$, but that definitely isnt enough to buy a domain and the webs package I want. Please help me and let me know what you think of my site! :)

    Hi,
I am considering becoming an online reseller that will allow me to resell the reseller program, without restricting me to use a particular marketing template for the reseller services as I would want to integrate it in a larger website; but do not really have experience in the field, and am not an expert at building websites.
Basically, what I have in mind is to combine the reseller services with a site that will sell memberships, have an input form, online Q&A sheet, some spreadsheets, and advertising capabilities, and referral capabilities to industry professionals.
what reseller program do you recommend and what companies are available to help me launch the site with at a low cost?
    Thank you.

Over the summer, I want to start an online business/company. I have some coding knowledge and I have a few ideas for the business. Some of the ideas are informational sites, and most are user interactive websites. My goal is to eventually make six or more figures a year. I love all of my ideas, but I’m not sure which to choose.

    1. A website where users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. Useers can also create a profile page and place info on the page.

Revenue: selling ad space, possibly creating a pro membership.
How will it be made: php script from jam room.
Pros- bands need an organized way of promoting themselves.
    Cons- purevolume.com already exists.

    2. This would be a service. It would be online concierge or your own online butler. For people who don’t have time to schedule stuff, they would pay a monthly fee and a person would complete the action for you whenever you want except. Your butler serves you from 8 am to 10pm. I would start off by myself when the business gets started, and then will hire more people as the business grows.

    Revenue: monthly fees
Pros: this could be a big hit and many busy executives would need this.
Cons- man labor may make this almost impossible if a lot people use this.

    3. A debate website where users could create a debate, and other users could post comments and argue on why they think they agree with the statement, or disagree. Based on them saying they agree or not, thee comment will be placed under an agree column or disagree.

    Revenue: selling ad space
How it will be made: script from prescripts.
Pros-there is no site that does this, and people love to express their opinion on topics.
Cons- no affiliate products to sell.

    4. A website where people can list their gift cards for sale, trade,or auction and other people can buy the cards for an under worth price. So let’s say someone has an unwanted card to target for $125. They recieved it as a gift so they did not pay anything for it. They could easily sell the 125 card for $100 . A person wants the card, so they buy it for $100 . I take a 4% fee and the seller gets $96 for a card he never wanted.

Revenue: selling ad space, charging small fee
How it will be made: marketplace script
    Pros- cool site idea
Cons- lots of co,petition and established sites.

    5. A website that has reviews, videos, articles on cell phones. I would have tons of content to bring in traffic. I would join verizon AT&T and sprints affiliate programs and sell their phones on my site.

Revenue: affiliate marketing, selling ad space.
How it is made- site builder
Pros- could bring in tons of revenue
Cons- competition cent, phone dog, phone arena, mobiledia, and it is not a user interactive website.

    6. A website where people can sell, trade, auction, and buy websites. The person could post a snapshot, price, and info on the wewbsite, and anyone who wants it could buy it. I would take a small 4% fee.

Revenue: small fee, selling ad space
    How it’s made- script
    Pros- good idea
    Cons- lots of competition

Those are my ideas. Which do you think is more profitable? Which should I do? Which could eventually make me six or more figures a year? Even if you don’t think any are good, which would you choose if you had to? Thanks!

I am 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I am currently taking a Business Camp at my school. My ultimate goal is to make six or more figures a year, and become Financially Independent. I know it sounds crazy since I’m only 13, but it is my dream.

I have 2 major online business ideas that could work, but I need help choosing the one that would make the most money.

    1. My first idea is a website where free users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. I would also have an area where users can post info and another area where bands can find new band members. To make money from the site, I would sell ad space, sell an ecourse on songwriting, and maybe creating a pro membership if the site becomes big enough. I have a problem though. Since I have no coding experience, I would have to hire a web design firm to create the site. The problem is that it might cost a lot ($100,000) to create the site. If it does cost that much, should i hire a programmer from elance or something like that? Thats how the website Digg was created. If it still costs a lot, should I have my parents apply for a loan from SBA?

    Overview of #1:
Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Songwriters.
    Revenue: Ad space, Pro Membership
    Costs: Website, Marketing, Website Matinence
Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, Service Business

Idea #2. This idea is a basic business idea. I would create a basic website (not a webs.com type of site, but not a huge firm site). I would join a well reputated wholesale company that sells and dropships musical instruments. I would list the products on my site using an eccommerce section, and allow customers to make orders. I would price the products to make profit. When I get an order, I send the order to the wholesale company, and they ship the products within 24 hours. They are most likely always in stock, and will notify me of any problems.

    Overview of Idea #2:
Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Dj’s, bass players, guitarists, drummers, keyboard players, lighting people, record producers.
Revenue: Profits from Products, Advertising on Website
Costs: Dropshipping, Cost of Products, Website, Website Matinence, Marketing
Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, E-Tail Business, Retail Business, Ecommerce, Product Business.

Which idea do you like the best? Which idea do you think is most profitable?

If you think #1 is the best and most profitable….

Why do you think that? How should I build the website? Will the website cost a lot? Should a get a loan from SBA? Would people like this site?

If you think #2 is the best and most profitable….

Why do you think that? Do you think it is a good idea?

Please help me. Even if you don’t think any of these are good ideas, if you had to choose one, which one would you choose?

    Thanks!

Hello. I would like to start an online business/company over the summer. My goal is to eventually make six or more figures a year. I have two ideas which I think could be really profitable. The problem is, I was quoted 40-50 thousand to make each site (except for the other business ideas). I just dont have that kind of money to even build one site. I will list the ideas below, and could you please tell me which idea you think is more profitable. How should I go about building the site? Should I hire someone on craigslist, rent a coder, etc.? Or should I try to build it my self? What should I use? I dont know programming or coding or web design.

    1. My first idea is a website where users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. Users could also create a page where they could post info, and find new band members. I like this idea since the only competition is http://www.purevolume.com. PureVolume is making $300 a day! If I make a better site, why can’t i make that or more? I would sell ad space on the site. Accounts would be free, but if the site became big enough, I would create a pro membership that costs money in addition to the free account. If you think this idea could be profitable, how should I go about creating the site? I got quoted 40-50k to build by a web design firm. Should I use Kickapps which lets you create a social network site where user submit content (videos, MUSIC, videos etc.) for a small fee? Should I hire a developer on rent a coder?

    2. My second idea is a website where users could post, list, sell, buy, auction, and trade websites. An ebay or amazon marketplace for websites. Users would post the site link with info and a snapshot and price, and other users would buy the site if they wanted to. I would take a small 4% commision from the sale. I would also sell ad space on the website. This website has some competition such as websitebroker.com, flippa.com, and sitepoint.com, but the potential is huge, and there is room for another player. If you think this site is profitable, how should I build it? Should I hire someone or build it myself. If build it myself, how should I build it?

    3. My third idea is to sign up for resellerdynamics. You pay $1000 to them and they give you liscense to re sell there website building software on your own website and charge fees per month. they were reviewed in small business opportunity mag as a good opportunity and bbb says they are legit.

    4. My last idea is to make a website with lots of articles, reviews, comparisons, etc. on cell phones. I would also sign up to be an affiliate with verizon, att, sprint, etc., and sell phones on my site. I know there are a lot of competition out there such as phonearena, phonedog, cnet, and mobiledia, but each site doest the same thing as the other site, and they all are making great money. By the way, is a website like this or a website in general considered a company? Could you be a CEO of the company that runs the website. Like if I call the site http://www.sprocketfish.com, could I make a company called Sprocketfish Inc. that runs the website and could I be CEO of Sprocketfish Inc.?

I really want to make one of these websites with as low startup as possible. I know I would have to market like crazy and do site matinence, but please help me. My parents think i should do a business like normal teens where you mow the lawn, babysit, etc, but I really want to do online business and hopefully make a good living. I think my sites ideas have potential. Which idea should I do? Which idea is more profitable? Even if you think they are not profitable, which would you choose if you had to? How should I build it?

    Thanks!

PS, I am becoming a dealer at Kaeser and Blair and selling promotinal products to get me some startup cash for my online companies (websites).

    Thanks!!
